About Elizabeth Harmon
With over 15 years of experience in online marketing, I help independent businesses create clear, engaging content that reflects their brand and connects with their audience.
How did I get started in Content Writing?
I have always been captivated by the written word. Ever since I was young, you could usually find me with my nose buried in a book, whether at home, on car journeys or on holiday.
My career began in online marketing during my university placement at Xerox Europe, where I was selected to join an innovative social media group. Around the same time, I launched my first blog, Thoughts Along The Road, and quickly discovered a passion for writing alongside my long-standing love of reading.
After graduating from Bournemouth University with a first-class degree, I joined De Vere Hotels, where I fell in love with both the hospitality industry and the fast-moving world of digital marketing. As social media and online content became increasingly important for businesses, my role naturally evolved in that direction. I later joined a London-based social media agency before setting up my own consultancy in 2013.
Over the years, I’ve continued to build my experience across content writing, marketing and brand communications, while working with a range of independent businesses, particularly within hospitality.
After becoming a parent, I chose to refocus my career around freelance content work, combining my marketing experience with more flexible, creative client support. Today, I help businesses create clear, engaging content and polished marketing materials that feel authentic to their brand and connect with their audience.
What Do I do in my spare time?
I live in Ringwood with my fiancé and our two young boys, with the New Forest National Park right on our doorstep. I’m happiest putting on my wellies and getting outside, whether that’s for a woodland walk, a garden project or an afternoon adventure with the children.
Outside of work, life is usually filled with building Duplo towers, having water fights in the garden or baking something together in the kitchen. We also love growing our own fruit and vegetables at home.
I’ve always loved photography and still enjoy capturing everyday moments, although these days it’s usually on my phone rather than with a camera around my neck. I also genuinely love writing in my own time, alongside reading and running.
One of my proudest achievements is completing the 2014 London Marathon in support of Shelter.
Why Choose To work with me?
With experience across both in-house marketing teams and agency environments, I understand the challenges businesses face when trying to create consistent, high-quality content alongside everything else on their plate. My approach is thoughtful, practical and tailored, taking the time to understand your business, your audience and the way you want your brand to be perceived.
I work closely with independent businesses to provide flexible content and marketing support, from written content and proofreading to polished customer-facing materials created in Canva. Rather than outsourcing work across multiple freelancers, my clients value having one experienced and reliable point of contact who genuinely cares about the quality and consistency of their content.
Every business I work with receives the same level of care, attention and professionalism that I would give to my own. When you work with me, you work directly with me throughout the process, benefiting from over 15 years of experience in online marketing, content creation and brand communications.
I understand that choosing external support is an important decision, which is why I always aim to build trusted, collaborative relationships with my clients. If you'd like to learn more about the experience of working with me, I’d encourage you to read the recommendations shared on my LinkedIn profile.
